This year’s Winter Band and Chorus Concert was indeed the best in many years. Everyone enjoyed all the offerings. We are certainly in the mood for the Holidays now! This year’s proceeds will go toward our State Band Contest coming in the spring. Thanks to all those who attended. Mr. Underwood has been wearing a big smile ever since!

This week is Homecoming Week. Homecoming Queen and her Court will be announced this Thursday during Auditorium. This year’s contestants are Seniors – Sally Knight, Jennifer Guy, Theresa Fallwater, Juniors – Missy Bull, Ivy Christian and Kati Aubin.
The girls’ Penny Jars are set up in front of the office. Vote for who you want as Homecoming Queen and put your penny in the jar. Each vote costs only a penny!
Homecoming Queen and her Escort will be crowned the next night at the Homecoming Dance. Saturday the Homecoming Queen and her Court will ride on their float in the parade downtown. Remember ALL Float Committee members for 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Grades, have your floats completed by 1:00 pm Saturday afternoon if you want to be in the Parade.
I’m sure no one needs to be reminded who this week’s Football game is against – our rivals – Faith Christian. We hear their team is pretty good this year. But, we know our Eagles will live up to their name and SOAR.

Spring Concert for both Chorus and Band was held last week. Lots of light and airy songs were heard. The Sr. Band also gave us a sample of their required 3 pieces for State Band Contest coming up next month. Considering that this reporter knows NO instrument, all the pieces sounded very hard. We wish the Band and Chorus- “good luck and bring back Superior Ratings all around”.

The play Hamlet was extremely well received by our community. Both nights received standing ovations. Although productions by Mrs. Ellis always are – this year’s Hamlet was over the top! The lighting was perfect, the parts were thoroughly learned, and the costumes were incredible. A big thanks to DJ Walker’s Mother for volunteering for Wardrobe Mistress. We couldn’t have done the play without her. And this reporter thinks that Sydney Crowe made the perfect Hamlet.

The 7th Grade has now finished their 4 week course in making Stained Class Windows. Everyone is quite proud of their results. Wendy Tebow, owner of Wendy’s Stained Glass Emporium will be displaying their work for one week in her East Window. This reporter has seen their work and is quite amazed and proud of all the students! Student Kylie Stevens told us that hers will be a Birthday present for her Mother. Happy Birthday Mrs Stevens.

All students are doing the same pattern but the colors are completely up to the individual. More to details to follow in the upcoming weeks.
